We finally made it through the painting process, which was unfortunately painful. Poor communication on the company’s part and a accidental paint spill on our family room couch made the process quite stressful. But they cut the price and bought us a slipcover for the couch, so I am satisfied. Mostly satisfied that now it’s time to start bringing furniture into these empty rooms!
First up were some rugs to protect our new wood floors. We picked up a couple of great Seagrass rugs from Overstock.com. They are prefect for the high traffic hallways by the front and garage door as well as the upstairs hall.
We also had our eye on some chairs at Restoration Hardware. When we were up at the Scottsdale store picking up our Slate paint, we noticed they were on sale. So we picked up the Lorraine Chair and they were delivered last week. I can’t wait to get a rug underneath them and some other living room furniture, but for now, they’re setting the tone for the room. We are also looking to pick up a set of Pavilion Strip curtains in Fog and the rustic Trumeau Mirror.
Our dining room rug arrived yesterday. It’s the Brandon Persian Style rug from Pottery Barn. It looks a little more gray in real life than in their catalog, but I think the color looks really good with the Slate gray and Almond Wisp color paint in the living/dining room. I’m expecting the arrival of my dining room curtains and mirrors before the weekend, so we can complete the dining room.
We’re debating a lot of items for the living room. The curtains are decided on but we’re still looking at rugs, a couch and an ottoman that would act as a coffee table. We saw this amazing couch a few weeks ago at Bungalow in Scottsdale and they’re having a huge clearance this weekend, so I might go see if it’s still around.
